WHEN NEWS OF A COLLECTION OF 18 VINTAGE PHOTOS OF TWINS Maurine and Noreene reached The Sister Project one year ago today, we and our readers experienced a grand collective “Oh!” and worked to find out who these wonderful women were. The mystery got solved…but now, another chapter reveals itself, from a new commenter, Gary, who it turns out worked for 25 years in the camera shop where those photos got processed. Oh, my. Read Gary’s latest chapter in the tale:
“I am from Denison Texas and I worked in a camera store in downtown Denison for 25 years from 1971 to 1996. In that time I sold cameras to the twins and processed and printed many of their photos in that time the twins worked in Denison for Southwestern Bell Telephone as operators until their retirement.
“They were identical almost, I could tell them apart but most people did not know the littlest difference in them. In the latter years they lived with their mother until her death. I never knew the third sister.”
That Gary would find us gives us the chills, and really speaks to the incredible power of the internet. Read the original tale of the mystery twins, published one year ago today, and the update when the mystery was solved here on TSP. But first, click the first thumbnail to see some more of the shots of our favorite twins.
