I NEVER THOUGHT I’D ever actually want a pug as a baby sister (their faces are always wet and they sniffle a lot), but here’s my exception: Jenny, the Pink Pram-Pushing Pug. This dog is fabulous.

NOTHING MAKES ME WANT TO return to childhood more (well, maybe except for The Red Balloon) than this puppet show scene from Truffaut’s 1959 film, The 400 Blows. (Clearly, I’m speaking of returning to my non-existent, retro French childhood. Sigh.)

HOW BADLY DO YOU WANT TO be a part of this family? I’d gladly be the sister to that bride or that groom (or that fantastic mum in purple!) because I’m willing to bet most days with them include a Queen-like ambiance and many good jokes. I’ll settle, however, for attending wedding half as great as this one.

HAS ANYONE ELSE NOTICED that my baby sister-picking is turning more into just plain old baby-picking? Uh-oh. I guess hormones are running high. I think I’ll blame this one on my thyroid. But seriously, how cute is this baby!? And that hat!

THANK GOODNESS CAPUCINE NEVER STOPS being cute. She’s at the storytelling again (I posted her original animal tale back in November 2008), and I can see her recounting skills have advanced–so much dialogue in this one! She’s a budding writer for sure. And she’s got some interesting near-yoga moves there in the middle. To quote Madmoiselle Capucine, herself, “Wow!” ( 1:35)
Update: as of 5/09 this video is no longer private. Woo hoo!

I CONFESS, I’M A LITTLE envious of the five sisters who are behind the website Five Blondes. Yes, they’re all blonde (in varying shades), and yes, they have a little Canadian je ne sais quoi spirit, but the icing on the whole blonde cake is their serious sister camaraderie. And while they’re scattered in various corners of Canada (Erica actually lives in London), they remain connected through so much more than common hair color. [click to continue…]

D AMN, I WISH these moves were mine. Or at least in my gene pool. Solange has it made…

I AM A SERIOUS sucker for funny babies, and apparently I am not the only one, because this video has over 74 million views on YouTube. But in the bleak winter months I like to pull it up and just start chuckling. It’s actually not only the baby that gets me–it’s those silly European sounds that are coming from the parent. (American people don’t say things like “Plong!” that’s for sure.) Can you imagine if this was a mainstay in your home? That’s why this silly Scandinavian baby is my pick for ideal little bro (as long as he never grows up).

AS FAR AS IDEAL family members go, most of the Bluths certainly leave something to be desired. Except for little brother Buster—now he is a dream come true. And so undervalued!
