AREN’T WEBSITES THAT END in “project” and are devoted to building community awesome? (You better say “yes!”) Well, I think so. Accordingly, I’ve been loving This is Home Project–a site filled with visual representations of the many ways we identify home. It’s quite simple, really. Complete the sentence “Home is _____.” and send it along to the project. A winning phrase will be selected by readers and made into post cards. I’m ruminating on my entry, but it’s hard to feel inspired when my current home looks like it had a violent run-in with an IKEA truck. How would you fill in the blank?

IN ANTICIPATION OF MY TREK southward, I’ve been nesting like nobody’s business. In my head, I see my soon-to-be new apartment as beautiful, clean and cozy, smelling like fresh-baked muffins. (While trying to not envision all the hard work it’s going to take to get me there. Eep!) But my vision just may come true now that I’m a part of a sisterhood with such creative and generous women.

• Last week I bought two prints (above) of artist Shelley Kommer’s collages for my living room. I fell in love with her work while writing a piece about her for the TSP Galleries.

• I am ever-inspired by Sister Paige’s gorgeous renovated farmhouse over the border in Columbia County, NY. Perhaps you’ll feel inspired, too when you read her article about it in this month’s Country Living.

• TSP’s founding sister, Margaret, has given me the most generous sisterly donation of forks and spoons and napkins and bedding. (Geez, nothing makes me feel more adult than getting excited about cloth napkins.)

• And once I get settled in, I’m going to have to whip up a batch of The Gluten Free Girl’s molasses cupcakes (not exactly muffins, but close). They’ll be perfect for my mama’s first visit–since she’s a gluten-free girl, herself!

Thanks, sisters! You’re going to make this big move just fine.

OKAY, SISTERS, IT’S TIME FOR ME to confess something: I am secretly terrified about my impending relocation to North Carolina! (Did you hear? I’m about to start graduate school.) There’s so much to do! And so much to leave! The video above (which I found thanks to the lovely Capucha) pretty much sums it all up. Thank goodness I watched it the whole way through, because how could I forget: There’s also so much to discover. Whew.

IF I WASN’T IN THE PROCESS of packing up everything I own, driving 1,000 miles, and then unpacking everything I own in the next two weeks, I’d be all over the Lovely Package Exchange going on over at the blog Oh, Hello Friend. I adore pretty paper and ribbons and bows, not to mention mailing by the post. And this package exchange with an emphasis on packaging has all those things and more (namely a cute gift from a total stranger). So, alas, I missed this one, but hopefully another lovely package exchange will roll around soon. (In the mean time I’m drooling over these pretty parcels.)
