AS I MENTIONED EARLIER this week, I recently spent some time hanging out with my dad while he was visiting North Carolina. We had a great visit that was punctuated by headlocks, non sequiturs, and spontaneous drowsiness. And it really got me thinking how many of you TSP fans ask, “where does your Brother T get his unstoppable goofy streak?” Well let me tell you, dear readers, look no farther than the man in the reflective rainbow sunglasses for that answer.

SINCE MY DEAR BROTHER has been working like a horse, staying overtime at his job and doing construction on his house, I haven’t been able to talk to him in weeks! Until a few days ago, when we finally had a moment to catch up with each other… [click to continue…]

WHY IS IT THAT BROTHERS are not very good on the phone? (Need I remind you of this.) Anyway, all these long-distance calls are making me miss my big bro.

A FEW WEEKS AGO, I went with T Money to the scrap metal yard in North Adams, Massachusetts. I drove the enormous Chevy truck filled with copper pipes. (Huzzah!) And my brother T said some poetic words about beauty, destruction and trash (although they’re escaping me now). It was the best outing we took all summer. Plus, we made big money. Really big money. GOOD GOD, HAS ANYTHING SWEETER graced the pages of the internet than the birth of Tessa Tangerine to the blogging family at Pacing the Panic Room? Don’t know what I’m talking about? (“Who gave birth to a tangerine?”) Allow me to explain how this growing family has stolen my heart. [click to continue…]

YES, TODAY MARKS THE anniversary of my brother’s birth. He has been gracing the world with his magnanimous presence for 28 years now, and to celebrate this exciting day I thought I’d share with you three things that you may not know about the man who we sometimes call “T:” [click to continue…]

BROTHER T HAS BEEN playing soccer since before, well, since before he was a brother. And these days he’s still heading and slide-tackling away. He recently helped to form a whole league of soccer players in the area to play against each other on Sundays. He rounded up his soccer buddies and found a business sponsor, had shirts made and collected money for the refs. The only problem was that he’s been scheduled to work every Sunday! My friend Leah pointed out how T on the little horse was just like Equestrian Statue of Marcus Aurelius (who is made to look powerful on a disproportionately tiny beast).
LAST CHRISTMAS, MY MOTHER got gift certificates for T and I to have a horseback riding lesson at Roberts Woods Farm in Monterey, Massachusetts. Six months later, the three of us finally aligned our schedules, and last Sunday we spent the afternoon hanging out with some very charming Icelandic horses. [click to continue…]
