2871364624_e21a3ba3e6YOU MAY REMEMBER MY CELEBRATORY MFA acceptance dance (with a little help from Ely Kim) when I heard back from the first programs–more acceptances and a fat financial-aid offer later–I’ve decided to attend University of North Carolina, Greensboro in the fall! If you’d like a taste of some of my fiction writings (you’re probably chock-full of my blog writings at this point), here’s On the Care and Feeding of Animals, a story I posted earlier this year. Or how about this new piece of short fiction, called About the Weather, Though. Enjoy, friends!

Very well done; haunting and dark. A piece that resonates with me afterwards, therefore pretty darn good in my opinion. I love the ghostliness of the ‘flat-mouthed boy’ that’s carried throughout. I feel and understand the depression, oppression, and divisiveness that is so current – like the dense dark clouds hanging over the parade. A fantastic statement on our current American society.

Sincerely congratulations again. My partner went to UNC-G for a couple of degrees and loved it. I spent most of my teenage years in the coffee shops on Tate St. and loved it. A great, eclectic area with a mighty fine school.
