ALWAYS ONE TO BE FASCINATED by unusual tattoos, I’m loving this wrist. The tattoo design is from artist Henry Darger’s Vivian Girls–”seven sisters and Abbiennian princesses.” (Read more about Darger and his fictional Vivian Girls here). I like the playfulness of the tattoo, and it’s like having a band of sisters around your wrist for life! The lucky inked lady is Kim’s friend (she has more photos). This one is via Joanna Goddard.

This is an awesome tattoo! Makes me think seriously about what I would want on my wrist -or just tattooed in general.
Very nice indeed. Tattoos are one of my few true loves.
I think it is notable that her wrist piece faces her rather than a potential onlooker. Tattoos are so personal to me, so it’s significant to me that she obviously got this piece for HERSELF and no one else.
Good point Keith. I’m forever wondering if she chose these sisters on her wrist because of sisters in her own life. But I have to say that I sort of like not knowing the full story.
Getting a tattoo has been on my mind again recently…I’ve always considered tattooing a word on my body somewhere. My name (narcissistic much?), my now-maiden name, and yes, the word “Sisters” has crossed my mind :)
ms Anna where do you find these little tidbits … the sisters tattoo is one of those tattoos that will truly be ageless and when anyone is deciding what to get …. it’s important to remember that someday you will be 30 or OMG …. older !!!!! i’m thinking maybe …. my brothers or better yet the three stooges !!!!!
PC d-lite: I think a tattoo of the three stooges would be a great conversation peice and I think you could pull it off better than most (certainly than I could).
In general I’m more a fan of black ink tats but in this case the color is indespensible.
Ohhh, this makes me want to get another tattoo.
