Sibling Ensemble: Nicholas K

good brother...good style...I'm in love.

LET ME TELL YOU: watching the MTV “reality” show The City is one of my favorite guilty pleasures ever. As you may know, this week marked the new season premiere. (Did you watch?) And so while I lay in bed soaking up all the new season gossip and Kelly Cutrone quips, I noticed a painfully handsome man sitting around at People’s Revolution. And then he spoke! And MTV told me that he was a designer for a brand called Nicholas K! And thus I put my stalker skills to work.

As it turns out the Nicholas K label is the brainchild of two incredibly good-looking siblings, Nicole and Christopher Kunz. We’ve seen plenty of style savvy sisters in the fashion business (Rodarte, House of Dagmar, Sienna and Savannah Miller…) but never have I come across a big brother-little sis designing ensemble. And by some elusive miracle of sibling-hood, they’re able to churn out beautiful designs.

From a 2007 article in Men’s Vogue, sister Nicole says of their collaboration: “We hadn’t been under the same roof together in so long, and you kind of revert to childhood.” Um, seriously. I can’t imagine working creatively–let alone working at all–alongside my older brother. I’d give it two hours before a spit ball war broke out in the office. So hats off to the handsome Kunzes! (Lesson: it pays to google beautiful strangers.)
