I’m Shaking in My Sandals

by Anastasia on July 29, 2009

OKAY, SISTERS, IT’S TIME FOR ME to confess something: I am secretly terrified about my impending relocation to North Carolina! (Did you hear? I’m about to start graduate school.) There’s so much to do! And so much to leave! The video above (which I found thanks to the lovely Capucha) pretty much sums it all up. Thank goodness I watched it the whole way through, because how could I forget: There’s also so much to discover. Whew.

Ok, that is pretty great. (And also a good reminder!)

You will have a great time at grad school, even though it is far away, you are really just a click away from your friends.

My favorite quote was, “it would be boring if we stayed the same age”. It would be!

You’re a brilliant lady, and I’m confident you’ll be a jewel in UNCG’s MFA program.

I didn’t mean to sound square, but think I did. I just wish you the very best, and know you’ll be fantastic.

A good way to look at these changes is to just say “so long for now, Gt. B” not “goodbye”.

oh, yeah, then there is the song lyrics “nothin’ could be finer than to be in Carolina in the mornin’”

Chapel Hill, Duke? Our daughter went to Chapel Hill undergrad. If you don’t know anyone in the area, let me know and I am sure she would be happy to show you around. She has lived in the area for 10 years so if you are at NCState she knows that too. Good luck and hang in there. Oh to return to college life, the best years by far. The only one to care for is yourself and keeping your grades up. Sure you can do that with flying colors.

Aww – that is a heartwarming reminder :-)
I really empathize with you, as we are moving back to the mainland in a few weeks to a life I thought I left behind forever – and I am scared to death, too.
(Fear attacks in the middle of the night for weeks.)
Just trying to remember that when one door closes, another one opens, and that what I love about my life here I can take with me in my heart, and plant its seed in a new garden.
We’ll all still be here for you :-) [hug]

I will do my best to make sure that Carolina is filled with plenty of adventures for you. I can’t wait for you to get here!

Also, the part about the cookie jar reminds me of this awful cookie jar in my house right now called “the cookie cop” that yells at you for opening it.
