SPRING FEVER IS UPON ME. Who is the first victim of this seasonal adoration, you might ask. Well I will tell you: the wooden platform sandals that I keep seeing all over the internet. I think I could love them like a sister. My pick of the wooden crop is the throwback Sweedish Hasbeen featured on Ringo, have a banana! and this pair from Jeffry Campbell that I saw on For Me, For You (above). It’s nice to dream.
Anyone else feel the love?

HAS ANYONE ELSE NOTICED that my baby sister-picking is turning more into just plain old baby-picking? Uh-oh. I guess hormones are running high. I think I’ll blame this one on my thyroid. But seriously, how cute is this baby!? And that hat!

THANK GOODNESS CAPUCINE NEVER STOPS being cute. She’s at the storytelling again (I posted her original animal tale back in November 2008), and I can see her recounting skills have advanced–so much dialogue in this one! She’s a budding writer for sure. And she’s got some interesting near-yoga moves there in the middle. To quote Madmoiselle Capucine, herself, “Wow!” ( 1:35)
Update: as of 5/09 this video is no longer private. Woo hoo!

AS YOU MAY KNOW, I’ve been engaged in a stork-playing game for quite some time now. This simply perfect video is making me rethink my method–all methods, really. Take note parents (and parents to be): Perhaps you should bookmark this video for future use. (I’m sure it could be quite handy in forthcoming baby-sibling situations.) Thanks to Capucha at Tralalere! for sharing it.

ON SATURDAY, I WENT to The Hancock Shaker Village with my mom to see all the recently born baby farm animals. It was some serious adorable overload. We especially fell in love with the piglets, who were spending their afternoon plowing their siblings over for a chance at the teat–much more rowdy than the singleton lambs and calves we came across. They reminded me of another little piggy I love.

I CONFESS, I’M A LITTLE envious of the five sisters who are behind the website Five Blondes. Yes, they’re all blonde (in varying shades), and yes, they have a little Canadian je ne sais quoi spirit, but the icing on the whole blonde cake is their serious sister camaraderie. And while they’re scattered in various corners of Canada (Erica actually lives in London), they remain connected through so much more than common hair color. [click to continue…]

DISREGARD THE FACT THAT this video is 10 minutes long and that you may have a touch of ADD, because it is just lovely. I wish I could exist in this food fantasy world of Kirsten Lepore. Sometimes I have a such hard time reconciling my different worlds of school and home and France–I think that’s why I identify with this little cupcake. Thanks to the peeps at BOOOOOOM! for sharing.
P.S. it looks as though the music was put together by Megan, Chelsea and Kirsten Lepore. Sisters, perhaps?

FOR THOSE OF YOU who are craving some Capucine, here’s another video installment. Apparently, in the video above, Capucine is a little jealous that her brother lost a tooth, but she hasn’t. (Un petit recap of our Capucine story: after seeing a video of her recounting a tale about all kinds of magic and animals, I chose her as my very first ‘If I Were the Stork’ pick. Then, a few weeks ago, I featured a second video of Capucine talking about raising money to help school-children in Mongolia. She’s quite the star on Vimeo (her video archive here), and she’s a regular feature on her mother’s Tumblr site, Tralalère)

THIS IS A CLIP FROM a show I saw on BBC America about people who are obsessed with dolls called “Reborns” (shudder). There are lots of amazing quotes in it, but I think my favorite is, “I come here every week and sell me babies” (0:46). Read: Do not ever give me one of these. They scare the bajeezus out of me. (oops! I just noticed the video didn’t embed properly. Click it once more to watch it on YouTube.)
