I watch lots of foreign language movies, and have three recommendations for your list: “Water” from India about windows who are forced to live in a house together as they are no longer “clean”. “The Lemon Tree” from Israel about a Palestinian widow and her orchard bordering a security official’s house from Israel. Beautiful relationship between the two women though they do not talk much to each other. And “Caramel” from Lebanon. Fun, fun, fun. Five women friends and a beauty salon. Must see.

I love this list! I stumbled upon it while trying to find a good movie to watch with my older sister, and now we can’t decide!

I did have one suggestion though, if not for the list then simply for people who read the comments…

Hanging Up – Meg Ryan, Diane Keaton and Lisa Kudrow play three sisters who bond over the approaching death of their father.

Great movie that I thought others might enjoy:D

How about adding Secrets and Lies by Mike Leigh. Focused on an adopted daughter looking for and finding and getting to know her birth mother. Brilliant. There is one scene, when mother and daughter has their first real conversation in a cafe; filmed in one take, totally compelling.

HELP! The title of the following movie: From UK – a married woman leaves her working class husband, and goes to Greece for romance. Meets fellow who owns a boat?? This also became a stage play.
