THE MOVIE ADAPTATION of Jodi Picoult’s best-selling novel, My Sister’s Keeper, opens today. We at TSP haven’t seen it yet, but it seems like a natural addition to our list of ultimate sister flicks.
Cameron Diaz stars as a mom so desperate to save the life of her daughter, Kate, who suffers from a rare form of leukemia, that she conceives a second daughter to provide a bone marrow transplant. Eventually, the younger daughter, Anna, played by Abigail Breslin, is asked to donate a kidney to Kate as well, and Anna decides to sue her parents for control of her own body and destiny.
Did you read the book? Have you seen the movie yet? Is this your kind of film, or is there another you would rather run to see or rent? Tell us which movies are at the top of your summer must-see list. We’re updating our list of sister flicks to include all our readers’ suggestions, and we’d hate to miss out on yours.

I took my daughter and her friend to see the movie last night. They were utterly appalled.
The ending was totally and utterly changed, they told me. They wanted to scream at the screen and had to hold themselves back.
why why why why why
I think this may be Hollywood thinking it must placate a mass audience, at its worst. How stupid do they think they are.
Pardon my rant. I did not red the book, but the girls — 14 year olds — told me all about it. They were appalled. I am appalled.
gosh i really want to see this film.
