SISTERS ARE A GREAT TOPIC. We’ve always known that, and it’s wonderful to have that confirmed by the arrival of Deborah Tannen’s new book, You Were Always Mom’s Favorite!, on the The New York Times’ bestseller list just this week.
A professor of linguistics at Georgetown University, Tannen in this book does for sisters what she did for men and women in her bestseller, You Just Don’t Understand, as well as what she did for mothers and daughters in her similarly bestselling, You’re Wearing THAT? In her latest she reveals what we at TSP have known all along—that sisters form unique lifetime bonds.
Tannen, also a Huffington Post columnist, shares the insights she garnered from the more than 100 interviews conducted with sisters, as well those revelations she acquired in a lifetime of having her own sisters. The combination is a winning, insightful, provocative and therapeutic book that is a must read for anyone with a sister.
Write on, Deborah Tannen. We’re proud of you, sister.
