I managed to knit all summer long, though it was definitely in fits and starts. But now that it’s September, I’m in full swing. Right now I’m working on Single Skein September projects – T has a new scarf, Z a new pair of mittens & I’m halfway through T’s mittens. Not sure what to cast on next — I’m swatching for some lovely colorwork hats, but I’m feeling the need for something fairly mindless to balance my crazy work schedule!

The last thing I really knit was Elizabeth Zimmerman’s baby blanket for Tallulah when I was pregnant in 2003… I thought I’s just be churning out sweaters for the kids, but the evenings are always so busy…

Have felt the bug though lately… maybe a fisherman’s guernsey for Viggo…

When I was in middle school, I remember my mother finishing (or doing the entire thing, rather) any sewing project we were assigned. I loathed it.

Now, I long to be able to sew and admire all the women I see around me knitting. I swear some day, I will stretch my wings and learn. Maybe this year. I still have a few months.

Oh, that hint of fall really does bring up the urge to knit! My mother is sending me the knitting needles I left there – and I just realized the other day that it has been maybe too long since I’ve done anything with them. Time to start at the beginning again…
