I would like to participate because my beautiful unused cookbooks look at me reproachfully when I walk by! I accumulate them faster than I can fall in love with them. My cooking goal for this year is to taste more carefully as I cook so that seasoning will be almost perfect when I finish.

My wonderful sister pointed me here. She doesn't cook, but I do and she knew how much I would love this. My only problem is deciding which cookbook to part with!

My cooking goal for the year is to find more dishes the whole family will enjoy. I'm pretty much cooking two separate meals each night, one for me and one for the boys. I like veggies and they're meat and potatoes. It's been hard to find some common ground, so I'd love to find a way to do this.

Paige--I spent all of my life as a little sister-to two older brothers!--ooh the stories I could tell. No outside boy ever treated me so badly as my big brothers, afterall they sat on my head in the pool or pushed me down the hill on my two wheeler---but... BUT always there to protect me from the "outsiders" step in front of me and back me up...oh, and still are, even at 63 years old---the bond between siblings is great and strong. I would love to send my favorite picture to you of my one brother and me--how do I do that?

Love to join your cookbook swap....

I'm in. I read cookbooks like novels ... I love them. I think I love them as much as cooking from them.
A cooking goal for this year? It's not technique, it's to put dinner on the table from food that stood on or was planted in the ground at least 4 nights a week.

I never met a cookbook I didn't like or a recipe I didn't change. I have over 14 running feet of cookbooks in my pantry. Flipping and reading through a cookbook is my way of getting exercise. I a milliner by profession and a gourmet cook by necessity; I love to eat. I could give up maybe ONE of my precious books. I like to grow my own vegetables and pickle and freeze what I don't give away. I stumbled upon your site today, and I think this is going to be alot of fun. MM

I would love to be a part of this cook-book swap! What an superb idea! I recently came across a 'retro' recipe for Pineapple Upside Down Cake and showed it to my husband and after I said to him 'Wow, it's been a long time since I made that, and in fact I don't make much at all anymore' he quickly replied 'you use to make a lot of things'. So today I made that Pineapple Upside Down Cake and in fact just took it from the oven and it looks and smells pretty darn good. I would like to 'get back to cookin' even though most days its usually just two of us. So I guess my interest would be for healthy and enjoyable cooking for two or few.

What a fantastic idea! Count me in. I actually have a box of lesser used books in the basement. When my knees allow I will pick a worthy one out for a worthy recipient.

I've actually been reading cookbooks the last two weeks. It's actually sheer torture because I'm laid up with two busted knees and can't cook. But I'm always looking for new inspiration.

As far as cooking goals this year they are focused on developing my book proposal and more published writing. That will get me in the kitchen!

I'm in Canada, but happy to ship internationally.

Thanks!

Sassy--You, you, you , it is. Welcome, and thanks for joining in!
Ann--Thanks for playing!
Pat--Oh, goody, a favorite. That's great. I am also a huge fan of the Tigress, and her CanJam is brilliant. You'll have to let us know what you're up to every month. (Samples welcome.)
