Getting Gluey With My Super Sister Teacher Karen

by paige on May 19, 2010

A work from Karen Arp-Sandel's collaborative art project, FE-MAIL

LATE LAST YEAR, in the throes of a long and somewhat dark winter, I wrote about my new year’s revolutions. Allowing myself to make art was one of the key changes I made last  year, and I owe it to my amazing teacher and gifted artist Karen Arp-Sandel. Amid reawakening my creative spark and her own myriad projects, Karen was kind enough to work with me on a profile of her and her art for TSP. Read the results here, and let me know how your creative endeavors are going. Me? Inspired by Karen and her current collaborator, Suzi Banks Baum, I’m tackling a round of mail art. Watch your mailboxes, sisters.

Paige- Thanks again for your delightful words in praise of all things collage and the world of Mail Art, especially Fe-Mail! Glad to know I contributed to your creative re-awakening in some small way.
And a heart full thank you for such a wonderful Sister Project interview & experience.
I am ecstatic to know you have joined our ranks- readying those collage post cards for the mail box. You contribute to making the world a more creative place to receive snail mail!
I am watching my PO BOX, watch yours!

Imagine a FE-Mail School of Correspondence for your spark and glue! Suzi and I are making it happen. We’ll keep you posted!

See you in class Friday- Karen

Hi Sister Paige,
Has anything arrived in your mailbox this week?
I hope so.
You are one of the best revolutions ever. I love reading on this site- it is like a great cookbook, every page has things I love to read.
Hugs to you my Dear, S
